I am in the same situation: - using a nexus 7 (latest android version) with an OTG cable (fitted with a SD card) on the usb port - using a garmin 695 driving my autopilot; with latest software (7.20) note: the garmin 695 can import, from the SD card, the "garmin" .fpl files created by Skydemon in windows,. note: with the last garmin softwares (last 2 years), the garmin 695 cannot be connected directly by usb cable to anything; it must read a sd card for updates. My goal: in Skydemon on the Nexus, become able to create a route in "garmin" .fpl format like in Skydemon/windows, and be able to copy it with the app "Nexus USB OTG file manager" from the Nexus internal memory onto the SD card (read by the 695), in order to save buying and carrying a windows note book when traveling.
Status: everything described above works EXCEPT that the android skydemon software does not seem to create "garmin" .fpl files (with the "send by email" functionality) like the windows skydemon version: my garmin 695 sees the .fpl file on the sd card (created/copied from the Nexus) , but it cannot import it (which is a format issue). If the android version of Skydemon would create the same "garmin" .fpl format as the windows version of skydemon, our problem would be resolved (i.e. create routes on the Nexus then save them to the garmin 695 for the autopilot)
Mike, can you help ?
many thanks! Daniel
