Hopefully these officials are aware of what the rules actually are, and of the fact that there is no requirement under SERA to carry a paper chart.

Tim and others,

Take in mind that the Dutch officials are more official then all the other European aviation officials and yes be prepared to have all the papers "on old fashioned paper" in the cockpit!

They now have a special task force to check this at airfields and be prepared to pay heavy fines! I guess they use a tablet with a checklist to find any law infringements

As I understand it, annex 15 deals with AIS units. We are not an AIS unit but we do provide AIPs produced by such units in SkyDemon.
Annex 4 deals with production of ICAO charts, which must adhere to a very specific format. We do not produce ICAO charts, we produce SkyDemon vector charts which in general are much better. There is no requirement we are aware of under SERA to carry an ICAO chart specifically.

You can easily download all the AIPs you want in Skydemon. Can't get more official than that.

We did have a SAFA inspection in Holland reasently, and did fly on SkyDemon, but as SkyDemon is not officially approved, can you en the future comply with ICAO Annex 15 an annex 4, ore is this a task that is in the pipeline for the future ? Luckily for the pilots on this trip they did have a old paper map that did cover the northeast corner and Germany so yah at they could continue to Denmark, but let it not happened for the happy users of SkyDemon.

Best regards, happy user of SkyDemon.
