We did have a SAFA inspection in Holland reasently, and did fly on SkyDemon, but as SkyDemon is not officially approved, can you en the future comply with ICAO Annex 15 an annex 4, ore is this a task that is in the pipeline for the future ? Luckily for the pilots on this trip they did have a old paper map that did cover the northeast corner and Germany so yah at they could continue to Denmark, but let it not happened for the happy users of SkyDemon.

Best regards, happy user of SkyDemon.

Hopefully these officials are aware of what the rules actually are, and of the fact that there is no requirement under SERA to carry a paper chart.

Hopefully these officials are aware of what the rules actually are, and of the fact that there is no requirement under SERA to carry a paper chart.
What SERA says is irrelevant in this matter. SERA are "traffic regulations" and not regulations on equipment. You will also not find in SERA a requirement to have an altimeter or airspeed indicator.

The relevant regulation for most SkyDemon users would be part-NCO, which states:
NCO.GEN.135 untitledDocuments, manuals and information to be carried(a) The following documents, manuals and information shall be carried on each flight as originals or copies unless otherwise specified:
[...]
(10) current and suitable aeronautical charts for the route 􏰖area 􏰗 of the proposed flight and all routes along which it is reasonable to expect that the flight may be diverted;

(Part-NCO is not yet in force in all EASA countries, but will be by the end of next year.)

Well, that's not certain. My point was really that the regs don't say anything about "official" charts. The question is how you interpret "suitable". Some countries have made clear that electronic charts are ok, other have said nothing.

Like altometer and speed indicator in glass cockpits?
You can't really make that comparison because you do need mechanical backup instruments if you have a glass cockpit.

I always carry some kind of paper chart as backup, but maybe not always ones that would be sufficient as primary charts.
