On some flight planned routes I can tap Route and in the drop-down window I have the option to Start Again, Create Route AND Edit Route.....on other routes there is NO OPTION to Edit Route.....is there some logic to this? For example Egpd to EGNC will not give me the edit option.... What am I missing??

Ok in the absence of any response, I have deduced that unless the route contains a navaid or an IFR Intersection/reporting point (VRPs don't count) the Edit Route option will not appear.....perhaps if Tim or Carl read this maybe they could explain whether this is intentional or not....I find it a bit annoying but by temporarily routing via an IFR reporting point I can get the job done and then remove said reporting point later

That function is intended for quickly editing airways routes. VFR routes often aren't practically editable in a textual way because they go via towns, VRPs and unnamed points in space, none of which can be represented in the text box in that window, which is identical to a flightplan route.

I think we use the presence of an airways reporting point in the route to make a snap decision as to whether the route is likely to be on airways or not.
