How can I back-up or share the plates I have downloaded on the iPad with my Mac so that I have a backup copy in flight if my iPad fails?
SkyDemon for iPad 3.0.5
Mac OS 10.8.5

SkyDemon doesn't have any Mac functionality itself. Further, I am not sure if plates are included in the backup that iTunes does automatically when your iPad is connected, sorry.

They're not. I can see and transfer logs and flight plans, but no PDF plate docs. Any way of making these visible in iTunes? After all, you use iTunes to upload User Documents.

That's true, but the vendors of the plates we resell are in general very keen that the files are NOT easily accessible; in fact, I believe that is a stipulation in at least one of our license agreements. Sorry!

Even for the EAD ones? It doesn't seem to stop Rocket Route and EuroFPL!

No, you're right, the AIP plates have no such restrictions. However they're all part of the same internal system so I can't see us changing the way they work just so that plates can be moved to a Mac.
