I probably don't have something new to add to this. However, I just can confirm, at least for my self, I have no problem with creating a new flight plan on my pc, save it to the "cloud" and then install it into my iPad-Mini for flight use. Perhaps it is an "Apple-issue" and with Android it might be another story; is it perhaps some kind of confusion with the "cloud-Word"!?

I hadn't thought about the possibility of two accounts... that would explain it although it sounds like you only have one account.

Otherwise, we can see no problem. I can confirm that the system is working normally and that this appears to be a unique case. The best explanation that we can come up with (in the office) is that there is some kind of communications error with your Android device, and unfortunately, this could be caused by a huge number of different things... I'm sorry I cant be much more helpful than that.

For my own interest, what kind of phone are you using?

Do you definitely have both devices signed into the same account?

If you do 'File > Open From Cloud' on the PC, do you see the files there?

What I did is as you described...seemed perfectly reasonable to me, which is why I was so surprised it didn't work.

I am under no confusion about where "the cloud" is - just a bunch of disk space sat somewhere on one of your servers, right? Smile

Perhaps you can confirm whether the 2 files I created on the PC, and saved to the cloud are actually on your servers. My PC seems to think they are, but my Android phone thinks not! Sad

Hi there,

I am very surprised that the first method you used didn't work. However, a common misconception is that we somehow use the Apple iCloud or other third party cloud storage system, so if you were trying to use a method outside of SkyDemon then it will not have worked. Can you confirm that you are using the precise method a la:

- Create route on PC.

- Route > Save to cloud.

- (on the android device) Route > Open from cloud.

- Choose the route to open.

I hope that helps. If not, or if I have misunderstood, let me know.

Hi,

I decided to give SD a shot today on the trial licence, but it didn't work as I expected. It might be user error, or it SD just might not work as I anticipated. Perhaps someone can advise.

I downloaded the desktop application to my PC and downloaded the Android app to my phone. The idea was to do the planning on my PC, and then transfer the file to my phone for use in flight.

The first attempt was to save plans from the PC to the cloud, and pull those plans in from the cloud on to my phone. No good...my phone can't see those PC created plans. So Plan B was physically copy the files onto the phone. This I did...to the "Skydemon" folder on the phone, tried to open these on SkyDemon on the phone...couldn't see them. Plan C - create a dummy plan on the phone and save it locally, then look for where it was saved by SkyDemon...and copy the PC authored files there. This I did...but couldn't find the phone authored plan, in spite of the fact I could import it into the phone version of SD.

So..can one author a plan on a PC, save it to the cloud, and import cloud plans onto a mobile device? If not, can one save PC authored plans onto the mobile device and if so, where should they be saved?

Also...I know it's a trial licence, so one must not look a gift horse....but it would be nice to be able to have fully unlocked version of the software, and not one that shut's down after half an hour's use.
