How is this different from the Direct To function under Route menu in SD Mobile?

different in the way, as the direct to function don't give you the nearest airport,

but the longest runway.



And in an emergency you won't have time to find the very small triangle to change from

"longest runway" to shortest distance.



That's the reason, why every device supplier has a nearest function implemented.

I see what you mean. Certainly my preference wd be for nearest and not just because I can use v short runways.

If nothing else you shd be able to specify how Direct To orders the choices. I may be wrong, but I think some programmes use the aircraft file to filter out those runways that are not suitable.

Also in WinCE (as opposed to the PC programme running in simulation mode), clicking on the distance title in the airfield tables does not reorder by distance from current position.

I think your suggestion is important.
