Hi everyone

I am a VFR pilot looking to take the switch and go digital in the cockpit. I am currently demoing skydemon and must say it looks really good and promising. I have a few difficulties though - and I suspect it might just be a wrong setting, but I haven't been able to find it:

1. -It seems that all "areas with sensitive fauna" is missing. At least from the Denmark chart. Have I missed a setting here?

2. -Again it seems that no lighthouses or information about lights is present at all.

3. -Power-transmissionlines are missing

4. -VFR-routes are missing

5. -When flying I get warnings about entering/exiting ATS-routes and the display is cluttered with current route. How do I turn that off?

6. -Is it possible to rename a reporting point in the flightplan? In the icao-flightplan all my routepoint are called by the north/east-degree identifier.

Thanks in advance - and thanks for a really great piece of software.

Ok - managed to figure out how to create and share custom data. So got the "bird sancturary"/"areas with sensitive fauna"-areas for denmark now. I see they are present in germany by default, so guess Danish authorities isn't sharing information about these areas?

Glad you got it all figured out.

Its difficult to get absolutely everything into SkyDemon, as different member states have different ideas about what is critical enough to define in a thorough way. We do our best of course, and where possible we try to pressurise states into adding more detail.

The detail that we do have is given to us by Eurocontrol, and if you think that something is missing then we will look into it. Please private message me and I will give you my direct email address.

LKS is on the right.

When flying Helicopter, there is a greater need for detailed information (power-lines, roads, windmills,....). Would be great if such a layer could be activated.

A pilot logbook function could also be nice. No need for manuel logbook.

The Danish AIP does not publish information about areas with sensitive fauna, so we have not so far been able to include those areas in our Denmark chart.

Lighthouses are a level of detail we have chosen not to include on our maps, the same with power lines unless they are very tall and therefore included in ENR 5.4 of the relevant AIP.

If there are VFR routes you think we should be including, please point them out to us.

I have noticed that some yellow stripes on the shores - assuming these are beaches?

Where does this data come from and can it be turned off?

Here in Norway these stripes seems to be half correct/incorrect and does not add much value as it is.

Sandy areas of coastline are part of the standard country outline data and cannot be turned off. If there are any areas that look wrong please point them out specifically so we can address them with the provider of that data. Thanks!

Martin - I didn't get any bird sanctuary data for Denmark, I just plotted it in myself. Read the areas of my ICAO-chart. Probably not 100% correct, but good enough for guidance in my case.

Hi LKS, Just noted your post
I am currently demoing skydemo
.

We all have our little niggles. Mine is a disappearing glide slope at 500 feet or perhaps a nice 3D navigation.

However, by today's standards, SkyDemon, is the most robust package for aviation available for pilots. It easily goes way beyond all other packages in its sophistication and simplicity. Another added bonus is that it is being developed by the most user friendly responsive Team.

That is why subscription expires end 2015 !
