Was flying Kemble to Duxford yesterday and route took me overhead Upper Heyford. Its a very significant feature but did not show in planning or navigation on Skydemon display. Got caught out for a few moments untill I looked at a real map. Yes, I know I should of rehearsed the route more thoroughly, but is there any reason it does not show in SkyDemon as many much smaller disused airfields do? Sky Demon does know where it is because it finds the right blank spot on the chart if you type it in as a route. Are there many similar cases?

I would think that the smaller airfields are shown because you can potentially land at them. Unless it's changed recently, the entire length of the runway at U.Heyford was used for storing cars....

Upper Heyford is showing on my chart as a disused airfield:

Upper Heyford shows on my iPad, both on the SkyDeon and the UK CAA/Nats charts, have you checked Airfields under Waypoints in Map Layers that Disused is turned on?

Heyford's main runway has been cleared of cars, however you cannot land , lots of vehicles use the runway, inc Police

training. Hence its not on the charts I guess

Thank you Rogerw. It was my fault. I had hidden all runways shorter than 400m and that takes out the disused ones.
