...and maybe one more thing: the terrain coloring has no high-contrast either. I would expect that to work accordingly to the selected chart style.

Coming back to this old topic after a rather unpleasant experience of the bright screen. What I did: disabled automatic adjustment on my tablet (Huawei Android device) and set brightness to minimum, switched to the high contrast map style. Good enough for enroute. Pain points:
  • All the tabs (weather, airfields, etc) have a white background
  • Scratchpad has a white background
  • PLOG has a white background
  • GAFOR routes show up differently (dashed yellow lines) while panning <- actually it looks like a bug because other charts styles won't show GAFOR at all during panning
  • 3rd party charts don't have any night mode. Technically it would be possible to alter the colors in the PDFs but yeah I could agree, this would require advanced logic and a potential place for mistakes...

Did you try switching to "high contrast" in the map format selection. That sort of does what you're after, it looks a lot like the TomTom "night mode".

Hi

I am very pleased with skydemon and use both iPad, PC and web versions. However, when using it for navigating on the iPad, I miss a night mode. I just came home from a night VFR flight but had to cover the very bright screen most of the time to be able to see anything outside the aircraft.

Regards
Karsten
