First should be NO.3 --- onscreen buttons (may be under the Layers button) to adjust screen brightness to reduce heating.
I have an iPad 6 mini with x-naut cooling case and still connection problems with an Air Avionics AT-1 at high cockpit temperatures. ;-(

Turning down screen brightness is an often cited measure to reduce the chances of your iPad overheating.

SkyDemon could help us do this in flight in several ways:
  1. A setting to automatically dim the screen after some timeout
  2. As above but with some smartness to bring back the brightness for certain events, example nearing a turn or altitude change.
  3. A very accessible on-screen button to maximally reduce brightness without fiddling about with the control centre.
Option 2 would be absolutely amazing. But even option 3 could be a nice win for battery life and heat reduction.
