Would it be possible to allow a choice of scale for the 5 dots either side on the HSI? Maybe adding 2.5NM and 1.25NM to the existing 5NM. Or just the 1.25NM which is already used when it switches to pseudo ILS. Unless, of course, it's already a choice and I haven't found it!
