I am trying to run SkyDemon on a Navman S50 GPS. The software is for a car GPS and does not give access to Explorer. I have been using Pocket FMS for flying and they have a method of creating an SD card that boots the Navman straight into their programme. Does anyone have a way of running SkyDemon on this type of device.

Hi Jodel,

On the FMS SD card is there a .txt file ? On my car gps the SD card for the road maps had one.

In that .txt file was a line that put the "navigate" icon on the screen. With advice I put a similar .txt file on the SkyAngel SD card. Two lines - one for SkyAngel to start and another to go into windows ( CE ) explorer - straight from the main screen.

Alex

Thanks Alex,

I had a look and there are 2 text files one seems to be information about the device. The other explains what files are on the SD card. Neither seems to have an obvious line to run explorer.

What are the names of all the files in the root of the SD card?

Is there a shell.ini file? If so, could you post its contents here?

Hi again Jodel,

At the moment there will not be a command line to run explorer.exe - the idea is to put a line in the .txt file that would place an icon on the screen - clicking this icon will get one into explorer.By the same method another line will put an icon on the screen for SkyDemon to run from the SD card.

The SD card supplied with my unit had a .txt file called "addons" - opening this showed "modules" then a line starting with "NAVIGATE" then a command line. Putting the SD card in put a "NAVIGATE" icon on the screen.

I changed it to two lines - one called "SKYDEMON" and the other "WINCE-EXP"- both work fine.

You could just make a .txt file in notepad - but we need to know how your unit puts it's "navigate" or such like icon on it's screen. Copy and paste the .txt file/files on your next post and we will see. Have a look at the roadmap SD card and the FMS SD card - post both.

Regards

Alexander

(Received screenshots of contents of root directory by email)

The most likely file looks to me like BOOTEX.txt. Could you paste its contents here?
