Exactly right. Pop-ups should be allowed for SkyDemon Web in order to allow PLog printing.

Hi Diamond1

I've been trying the web version out on my macbook pro (safari), seems to bring up the plog preview fine.

I dont have popups blocked, but that's all I can think of from my limited use of it.

I've just accessed the trial version of skyDemonWeb using an iMac.

Everything seems to work fine except I cant print or even see a PLOG.

When I click the PLOG button, it brings up the PLOG option dialogue box, when I click OK it just disappears!

No apparent attempt to send anything to the printer.

Am I missing something?

I keep getting errors claiming I'm not connected to the Internet when I am. 'There was an error while trying to communicate with the SkyDemon server...' etc. Can't recall them occurring with such frequency on the full SkyDemon plan, although I might be wrong.

Otherwise great.

Hi

Been using web based plan for a couple days.

Few things I've noticed:

-Fuel - can not change from 100ltr?

-User Waypoint - 'relative' button not there, so can't select radial distances.

-User waypoint - can't edit it with right click once created, have to open it in user waypoints to rename

-Initial map download very slow relative to other 20MB downloads on my system. It would be ideal if there was any way to segment the data for the UK at least, so for SE England I don't need to wait for the whole of the UK to download. Not sure how easy this would be.

Obviously some of the printing options are missing, but as a Mac user much prefer this Web based planner (assuming no Mac version) rather than vmware. GPS syncing would be ideal.

Had a few errors, as can't copy and paste text have added couple of screen grabs. Internet connection was fine. Max OSX, 10.6.7, Safari 5.0.5.

Have also seen a few TAF decode errors in the message box.

As an aside, SugarSync works perfectly without any kind of lashup. I've got three devices connected using it and it works flawlessly.

I've been trying out SkyDemon web today and it's excellent! I'm really looking forward to syncing SkyDemon on my netbook and SkyDemon web.

Up until now I've been syncing my netbook, old pc desktop and work PC with a Dropbox/NTFS Junction lashup. While that works OK - if SkyDemon Web/Desktop sync can handle multiple desktops as well as web then that would be a complete solution!

A very welcome addition - Thanks Tim!

Steve

To be fair, I have to say I agree re security etc and a stick. If Tim can get GPS sync and the maps to work like google maps (just download whats needed on the fly) or some other means of faster maps, then browser is best way to go.

To me the loss of sync which Tim has said is hard to do, is a very significant loss.

If you are at an unfamiliar place and ask to "borrow" a PC, will they be happy with the 20-40MB chart download? Takes a while, some PCs might not permit this and anyway quite a few such "lenders" will be twitchy.

I'd be much more twitchy about letting someone run some software off a USB stick - which could do absolutely anything at all to my computer - than I would be about letting someone use a browser hosted application which runs in a secure walled garden and cannot access any local system resources.

In fact, most properly secured corporate machines and certainly any public terminals such as those in libraries or hotels will have USB storage disabled anyway.

Andy, we'll start thinking about bringing the cloud-based data into SkyDemon Plan once we've done it for Web.

I don't think scroll-wheel events work in Silverlight apps on Macs, unfortunately.
