How about a feature to put the screen into maximum brightness when in the "go flying" mode, similar to when displaying a boarding pass using Apple Wallet?

Could be interesting when using SkyDemon on a night flight...

Good point. SkyDemon can tell the time, for night flying, automatic dimming to minimum or very low would be equally useful. Something in-between for the twilight period perhaps?

Most (Android - I don't use iDevices so can't speak for them) tablets/phones have automatic light-sensitive brightness settings, partly to adapt to varying light levels, and partly to maximise the battery life. Full brightness on most of my devices is too bright for comfort except in direct sunlight on the screen - and I fly in a bubble canopy!

‌‌Can I suggest we take a step back and consider what the actual problem is that your suggestion is trying to solve, and check that it can't be solved by adjusting the standard operating systems settings (e.g. turn on "adaptive brightness").
