Thanks, this bug has come up in our own testing as well and will be resolved in the next beta. I'll try to post another build this afternoon.

Wow :-)

Best regards

We have just updated the beta again, and today's build contains an auto zooming feature, which has been requested a lot over the years. The feature is being prototyped - there is no guarantee we will ship it. It depends on the feedback we get through the beta programme.

The auto-zooming feature gently zooms your chart in as your approach your destination airfield. It does this while ensuring that both you, and your destination airfield, are kept onscreen at the same time. It zooms in as far as 1:50k so that circuit patterns and noise abatement areas are visible, and keeps the zoom level there until you've landed. If you change your mind and fly away again, the chart will zoom out.

It also works wh‌en you take off. Your chart will be zoomed out to 1:50k, again so you can see circuits and other airfield features. As you leave the airfield and when you leave the circuit area, the chart will zoom out to your enroute zoom level, usually 1:500k.‌

‌‌If at any point you apply any manual zooming, auto zooming will stop interfering. And of course the entire feature can be turned off (from the orientation indicator menu at the bottom right).

Please give it a try (it works in the simulator, even though you can't really test the landing and takeoff stuff in the simulator) and let us know what you think. If you find a situation in which it doesn't seem to work so well, please let us know what the situation is (and the airfields concerned).

WoW!
‌Don't know about the auto-zoom yet, but airport charts and panning/zooming do work like a charm now (Huawei MediaPad II 10, Android 5.1.1). It really is a much appreciated improvement.
Thank you!

Had to roll back to 3.8.1 on my Samsung S8 and Android 7.0.
‌SD 3.8.2 could not detect the GPS although it works correctly. Tried everything from apps location permission to disabling battery saver for location services etc.... Once I rolled back to 3.8.1 (downloaded from SD web site), worked as a charm again....
