The NOTAM will have been published with the wrong coordinate. I assume AIS picked this up and sorted it. At SkyDemon we can only display what we are given.

Hi Tim,

I noticed this is regularly happening with RA(T) NOTAMs. Ascot had this issue, as does the current RA(T) at Turweston. The NOTAM from AIS says it is a 2nm circle centred on 520227N 0010544W, which is the midpoint of the Turweston main runway. However the red circle on SkyDemon looks to be centred about 0.5nm south of this point.

I'd be grateful if you could take a look at this for me.

Best,

Jonathan

The RA(T) for Wimbledon is also slightly off the centre point published by AIS and also a radius of 1.0nm as opposed to 0.75nm.

Please note that NOTAM coordinates in the Q line are given with reduced precision; they can only have degrees and minutes (no seconds) and a whole integer number as their radius. That is the NOTAM format.

So although the text in the E‌‌ line may give a slightly more precise centrepoint and volume, the Q line is the only thing SkyDemon can automatically display as it's the only machine-readable part of the NOTAM. This is just the way the NOTAM system works.‌‌ It is always safe, as the Q line data will always fully contain any slightly more precise descriptive text in the E line.
