Hi,

Just installed SkyDemon in Android 7.1, and it just crashes whenever I try to download charts.

Can't get a version number from SkyDemon itself, but it was installed from Google Play Store a day or two ago. Play Store thinks it is 3.6.6, October 24th.

Any fix for this?

We don't even have Android 7.1 in the office. So no, there is no fix at the moment.

Ok. Any debugging or crash information you can glean from my device to help track it down?

If you have access to the Android console (logcat) output, that would almost certainly tell you what is going wrong.

OK, will see if I can work out how to do that.

I suspect something like a change of storage location perhaps?

I also had multiple crashes on my Pixel XL/Android 7.1 phone trying to log in to SkyDemon - I couldn't even type my entire username! I did eventually get it to work by, of all things, putting SkyDemon into the new multi-window mode, logging in, then going back to fullscreen mode. Since then it's been flawless - and great in flight.

I could login fine, but can't download any charts.

Will try your trick and see if it helps.

Didn't help sadly. Double checked app permissions too, and it's authorised for local storage access.

Will try to get log output once I'm home.

That's odd. I tried to use logcat to get some more information, connected the device via USB to my PC and enabled developer mode and USB debugging. Tried downloading charts, and it worked.

So I disconnected from USB, turned off developer mode, and it still worked!

Only other thing I've done recently is to restart the phone. I'm not sure if that would have had any effect?

TLDR, it's working now, and I'm not entirely sure what I did to 'fix' it!
