I completely agree. I spend way too much time flight planning so that I can get a clear understanding of all the airspace involved, which shouldn't really be necessary. It would be great to change my route mid-air and see these details in real-time, as changing a plan mid-air on the tablet isn't necessarily simple.
Garmin has a nice feature, where if you touch anywhere, it automatically highlights something and provides info on that feature. Touch the same spot again, and it will highlight something else. Repeat and you can cycle through a list of features near where you touched the screen.
I really like this feature, as it can be tedious to long-press, then long-press, then long-press to find what I'm looking for. In a shaking plane, long-press is a PitA quite often. (sorry for such a negative display of affection for long-presses)
That is one thing I'd love to see in SD as well. Just touch/click somewhere and have the nearest item highlighted, and topical info displayed about it. Would be awesome, and would really help when flying VFR.
