Hello, I have been trialing a PilotAware unit hooked up to SkyDemon with some success, I would like to request reverting back to a higher visibilty for the Icons representing other aircraft, they used to be green which was fine, but in the latest versions have changed to white which makes them quite hard to pick out.

(others have voiced the same to me.)

Agree with Russ. Is it possible to look at other colour options please?
Possible to make the closest proximity ones red perhaps?

The traffic WILL change colour if it is conflicting (goes yellow, then red) but I'd like to have the ability to quickly glance at the traffic icons and see that they currently pose no issue, so perhaps the original green. White and so small is tricky to see on the map - the height tag is more noticeable than the aircraft icon.

Perhaps also, for traffic that SD feels may pose a threat based on height and vectors, perhaps stick a circle round it in the same way that if you touch the symbol and press 'aircraft' does? That would make it more visible.

Al & Russ, have you used the Simulate option to play with Traffic?

We will certainly be revising colours and sizes over time as traffic integration becomes more popular. We won't rush to do anything though as we want to evolve it slowly and ensure we're always going in the right direction. Playing with the simulator is a good idea as you can see how SkyDemon alerts you to other traffic.

Sorry, excuse my lack of experience with this, but I'm not getting it, how do I use simulate and get traffic?.
Only way I can see traffic is by connecting to the pilot aware software and selecting go flying and then use flarm, I see no option to simulate traffic




P.S.RE: colour changes with greater threats, this is also something I've yet to see, though I don't know what the parameters are for the colour change to happen and may not of been close enough to other traffic.

Very good it is too, now I can see that it actually changes colour  with threat changes , I take back my visibilty concerns, It is probably better to have the traffic that is of no threat in a less visible colour

Thanks Russ. We are trying to imagine what it'll be like in a couple of years time when (hopefully) nearly everyone is broadcasting their position. At that point we don't want the display to be cluttered, we want only aircraft that are actually a threat to be highlighted with stronger colours. We also don't want people continually looking down at their GPS so more thought needs to go into audible (possibly vocal) alerts too.
