Hi Tim,

I may have found another odd airspace issue.

On recently checking my usual route from Blackbushe to Le Touquet (EGLK DCT OCK DCT SEVENOAKS DCT LYD DCT TUKVI DCT LFAT) Skydemon advises me correctly of some class D airspace at LFAT - everything OK.

For my return leg I reverse the route as above, but this time Skydemon alerts me of a London TMA Class A bust which my route clearly avoids (I fly under the lower level of London Class A there and back).

To crosscheck, I planned the LFAT to EGLK route independently at the various altitudes and once again I get the London TMA Class A bust red alert, when clearly the I'm under the TMA enroute.

Any forum members please feel free to check out the above and see if the same alerts occur - it's only on the LFAT to EGLK return, and not the outbound.

Many thanks

Hugh

I tried the route suggested with a cruise altitude set at 2200 ft.  I don't get a class A burst.  The virtual Radar correctly shows the class A TMA above me.

Hi George,

Thanks for the feedback.

I don't get the Class A bust outbound to LFAT, but I get it on the way back - same route, same level (2200).

Did you reverse the route from LFAT to EGLK - this is when I get the Class A bust at 2200 ft.

Thanks
Hugh

I don't get the burst on outbound or return legs.  I've tried planning the route on my PC and on my Nexus device. No problems with either system

Hi George,

Sorted - I had set an alternate airfield (Fairoaks) for my flight plan bacl to Blackbushe, and Skydemon had set the enroute altitude for the alternate at 5000 ft (route level when crossing the channel).  Of course Blackbushe to Fairoaks at 5000 ft clearly busts the London Class A, and hence Skydemon (rightly) flagged this as an issue.

Alternate altitude now set to 2000 ft - problem gone away - doh!!!

Thanks for checking anyway.

Hugh

Hopefully looking at the Virtual Radar readout for the flight will highlight exactly where your planned route (or leg to alternate) intersects with various enroute airspace.

It did Tim, but I missed it on virtual radar, as the alternate route is a dashed light orange colour; maybe an idea to make it bold red or something.
