Planning a flight from EGNT to Ronaldsway EGNS, i receive a whole series of NOTAM warnings for Syria, Egypt, Iraq, Ukraine, Libya and Yemen? Clearly it is no relevance, is it a bug that can be fixed?

It's not a bug. These NOTAMS are produced by the data source. However, irrelevant NOTAMS can be hidden.

I have got them filtered and still receive them. How do I hide them?

In SD for PC, right click on the NOTAM you wish to hide and a 'Hide NOTAM' pop-up will appear. Click on this and the selected NOTAM will be removed form the list. It can be recalled at any time by clicking on the plus (+) sign. Of course there are some NOTAMS that cannot be hidden, in which case the pop-up will be greyed out.

In SD for Android, swipe the NOTAM you wish to hide from left to right and it will be removed from the list. It can be recalled at any time by clicking on 'More'.

I don't know what the procedure is for the iPad/iPhone, but I imagine it will something similar to Android.

We don't publish NOTAM, we just display them. If you think those NOTAM are stupid (we do) you should write to the UK NOTAM office and tell them so. In the meantime, as is said above, we offer the ability to hide NOTAM you deem to be irrelevant so at least you won't have to look at them again.
