Oeps... I just posted the same question as the OP. I should have looked more thoroughly . Sorry.

But having said that: I also suggested two possibilities, where to leave that information w/o eating any of the map...

Append it as text between brackets after the yellow line with the current postion.

will become:

Alternatively, one could decide to trade in that beautiful SkyDemon logo in the top-left corner. And replace this by a letter-button :-)

Again, my apologies for creating a new post...

kindest regards,

Robert

We've thought about this in the past and it would be technically very easy as the virtual radar data already includes this information. However, there's nowhere to display it that really makes sense. It's just not worth it in our current opinion.

Is it worth trading some CPU power to this feature? One may put such thing in the simulated HSI, but I would rather like to not have it.

it's not immediately apparent when you're in controlled airspace, especially if you inadvertently climb into airspace above

You can already set warnings for any class of airspace you don't want to fly into.

Just wondered is it possible to get SD to display the class of airspace that you are currently flying in? SD gives plenty of warnings of controlled airspace ahead, but if you miss these it's not immediately apparent when you're in controlled airspace, especially if you inadvertently climb into airspace above (not that I'd do such a thing of course!).
Perhaps the plane icon could change colour or something, so it would be obvious that something was wrong if you were not in the class of airspace that you expected to be.
