Screen is not readable in flight, comment also applies to ASUS T91.  As useful as a chocolate teapot.  Even my 7" UMPC (spec SM-8082) has readability drop off in direct sun.

I find the typical clamshell design really awkward in the cockpit  .. a tablet PC is far better. And there are some that are very small (Kojhinsha)  .. and also some that have a detachable keyboard.

Also beware blue screen of death .. rare nowadays!! Also solid disk drive is better thna normal spinning disk.

My feeling is that in next few weeks we will see high brightness wince 7" devices that are far better than current crop.

The software will run great on that machine. My only concern would be screen readability in flight.

If you look at the image half way down this page:- http://whatlaptop.techradar.com/node/1432 ...

... you'll see that it appears almost unreadable in sunlight. At first glance of that photo, the unit appears to be turned off.

Has anyone tried running Sky Demon Plan on a Sony Vaio P Series and then running it in the aircraft?

The Vaio P series has inbuilt GPS and a hi res screen and comes with either Vista or Windows 7

Typical Spec is:

Sony Sony Vaio VGN-P11Z, Atom Z520 1.33 GHz, 2 GB, 60 GB, MS Windows Vista Home Premium and cost is from £370.

Also has a built in 3g card for getting TAFs etc.

Would love to hear thoughts from people on how well this would work
