I appreciate that the surface data is very basic, albeit sufficient for recognising basic features when flying, but I seem to have spotted a new road that isn't actually there.

It is in Cambridgeshire, a dual carriageway that starts midway twixt Cambridge and Huntingdon (A14) and goes almost directly west before curving northwards to join the A1.

It passes about a mile north of Main Hall Farm and is potentially very misleading. Anyone having local knowledge, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I drove along the A14A1 to Peterborough from the Cambridge side last week and do not recollect a new junction along that stretch.

Now classified as "withdrawn".

On 20th October 2010, the Department for Transport (DfT) confirmed that the current A14 Ellington to Fen Ditton scheme was unaffordable under any reasonable future funding scenario
