Has anyone had experience of installing a bluetooth RS232 dongle to end frequencies from SD to a radio installed in a licensed aircraft?

Slightly different question on Bluetooth to RS232.  Have a BT578 dongle to transmit Skydemon track data to Dynon HS34 nav controller driving a D180 autopilot in RV-8.  Can the dongle be left permanantly on and still function (so it can be mounted behind the panel)?
I have not investigated the Dynon set-up requirements yet.

Little confused. If you run on its internal power then it won't last long before needing to be recharged. I assume you are powering externally in which case you will doubtless have it wired to some switch (perhaps same as the Dynon?) so the BT578 is only receiving external power when in use. This is fine.

Sorry for the confusion.  This system uses ultra low power so no extra power is required - it operates on the signal as a power source.  But I was not clear on what should be done with the available power switch.  I will set it up and try it out.  Thanks for the reply.
