Hello!
When setting the cruise altitude for a route to 1500 ft, I get an error message telling me that the airplane power is not sufficient for flying the route as planned. (The exact message is "Die Flugzeugleistung ist nicht ausreichend, um die Route wie geplant zu fliegen." because I have the German version.) The message appears for all of my airplanes and only for 1500 ft.
I don't know why this happens. The cruise performance for MSL and for 2000 ft is configured, as well as the climb power for MSL and ceiling altitude. Does anybody have an idea?

Kind regards Hi, probably in relation with a setting you made... You may set plane performance for several altitude (search where to scroll, settings are sometimes multiple lines(?)) something is wrong somewhere in your plane description. Flush it and create a new one ..?

The mystery is solved. The start airport was higher than the route.

I think this issue should be treated as a bug. In my case, it happened during experimenting with my airplane profiles. But it could also happen in rare cases in real life when somebody departs from an airport with high elevation in mountainous area and plans to descend immediately to a lower cruise altitude (e. g. departure from Farrenberg, Germany).

It’s really easy to work around. Just set the first turning point really close to the departure airport, and set that first leg level to just above the airport elevation. Further legs can then be set with the planned levels lower than the initial leg as terrain permits.
The system is behaving logically. You would not descend immediately below ground level once the take off roll starts, which is presumably what you were asking it to do!

Apart, I blowed the average speed for an UL with more than 1000km/h averange speed 🥳

Of course there is a workaround. For everything there is a workaround, and your's is obvious, once you know the reason for the error message. But once again you didn' get my point. The error message is misleading, and the behavior of the app is different from its behavior in similar scenarios.

I think the issue is more to do with the translation of the error message into German.
The English version reads “Your flight could not be modelled. Check your planned altitudes and aircraft performance”.

And apart, Idin’t like the way to set altitude in SkyDemon. So I don't set it, my fly log is mainly RED !! I fly mainly straight trought the montains and I does not get any special warning in flight. I' m not following the vertical line but made my own altitude in real time. Perhaps if there will be something more easy way to set it I will use it. But so far I didn’t understand how to proceed apart in the graph like a finger in the nose, wich is boring (to me). However it is good to know about this curious behavior and the fact that SkyDemon refuse to dig the airfield. Have a nice night.

If you press a leg either in the chart or the virtual radar view it will bring up the ‘What’s here’ pop-up with the leg itself at the top under the subtitle ‘Route’. Touch that and the leg details will be shown. You can set the leg level there, and step back and forth through the remaining legs using the ‘Prev’ and ‘Next’ buttons top right. Much less messy than sticking your finger up your nostril.
