I am wondering if one could print A3 tiles of SD charts and use them to meet the legal requirement to carry a chart. Digital & paper copies of UK CAA charts alone is around £150/yr. Waterprooof, foldable A3 inkjet paper is around £1/sheet (toughprint & weatherjet) and say another 50p for the ink. Also makes huge sense for the odd trip to France, Ireland etc. Not sure what happens re "drawing line on map". Perhaps one can use chinagraph  .. cleaning line with meths wd doubtless clean the chart off as well!

Anyone more clued up than me re the regulations?

David

This isn't really a goal of ours; I have no intention of putting the cartographers at NATS out of a job!

Regarding the regulations, I think any chart will do as long as it shows things that you'll need during your flight to remain safe and lawful.
