i installed the new beta this morning and plan to the it up in the air later on today.



Whilst copying the charts I got an error twice "Operation failed. Unable to read beyong the stream".

As it did copy files I started to sync the device and it started to copy new file versions over and right

after Notams it failed again with the same error. This is whilst installed it using an sd card reader



I then plugged in the SD card in the GPS and connected it via activsync --Synced device again and

no problem. After the notams it updated the charts (where ir previously failed)

right i started my gps up

Version in the corner still said 2.0.0 but the Accept and Exit button now had different colors (green and red)



First impression is that the fonts etc look different. In the London area a lot of the Words are very cluttered, but the font size is already set to to small. However in the settings menue and the open route menu all the fonts are very small.

- Can this increased or is it using the normal windows CE font size?



Whilst viewing the Elstree airfield plate and scrolling down the program crashed. - It can be repeatidly caused to crash.

Thanks for the early look and play.

I put my card nto the card reader went to setup >connectivity > etc and nothing, no warnings just nothing.

I then went to 'go flying and synced that way and  got the message like the previous post ' unable to read beyond the end of the stream.

I nevertheless put the card into my device and off it went, different coloured accept buttton. Got into chart view, then 'instrument view' no problems with text size.

I have put a route in and it's all running well. The deviation bug  and the deviation dot markers (can't think of the proper name for them) are showing very clearly

I have synced my unit again and it worked without any warnings.

I'm flying Monday so hopefully give it a go.  Thanks again

Further to my last post, I have now played for about 20 minutes on it.

On the welcome screen it still says version 2.0.0.
I did a new route in Plan and synced the device under 'go flying'  it said updating Notams, Charts, Logs registering device etc and then said Success.

I then went to the device and couldn't find the new route I had transferred or the Weather, but the notams were there.

I then synced with the card reader, and got the 'unable to read beyond the end of the stream' message again. I put the card back into the device and although the route still wasn't there, the Notams and the weather were there. Everything else is working perfectly

weirdly when I wanted to fly i couldnt actually get a GPS signal.... I started up the old skydemon version and that worked straight away...



Does anybody else get the gps signal?

When I start my device now,  about 5 times out of ten it hasn't got a signal with the satellite icon at the bottom in purple. It very ocassional happened with the older version but I'm not sure if it is affected by how you switch off the device, either exit skydemon program first and then switch off or just switch the device off at the power button

I too have had the "stream" error message while trying to install beta mobile using a card reader. Using Active Sync did enable me to install it but it takes ages compared to card reader.

Have not tried loading a route, NOTAms etc so do not know if other errors mentioned also crop up. Will wait till some of the bugs are fixed.

Like the look of the instrument page.

Re fonts etc, I too think town and other labels are cluttering up the charts  .. esp the vert nav part of the screen. What has happened here and perhaps the "declutter" gradation available in garmin is needed here.

Re the cluttering of the screen with the fonts labels for towns etc, it's down to personal preference, and I prefer it as it is, and there is always the option of deselecting the labels for the smaller  villages. I have just had a play with the HSI in the simulator mode, very impressive.

Agree completely re personal choice. Have not managed to find means of turning off labels for small towns etc while running SD Mobile (not mobile in simulator mode on PC). Where is this function? Thanks
