Dear all,

I would like to get skydemon for ipad, however I am not sure which one to get. I would like to use the ipad with the navegation option so I can use it during flight. Would i require to get the ipad with the assisted GPS?

Thank you,
Jorge Lima

All the 3G Ipads have a built in GPS chip so if you want to avoid running a separate GPS unit I would get one of those.

I use a wifi/3G 32gb Ipad. You don't need this much memory for Skydemon of course so a 16 gb would be adequate unless you want to store loads of photos/music/video etc.

The ipad/Skydemon combination is unbeatable IMHO.

Up to now I ran Skydemon on a 7" chinese GPS. I occassionally found the GPS dropped out with it sat on my knee.

Therefore when upgrading to iPad, I purchased the WiFi only version, together with a Bluetooth GPS. That way the GPS can be put in a better position. Hope to try the combination out tomorrow, weather permitting.

N.B. There are only a couple of known GPS that work with iPad, the GNS5870 and the Dual xGPS150A. The reviews suggested the Dual was better, so that was the one I went for. It pairs perfectly and on the ground seems much better than any other GPS I have used.

Sorry to be late, but I am running a wifi only iPad 1 on a RAM mount with separate GNS5870 GPS receiver with Bluetooth positioned with a clear view of the sky, and it's brilliant...
