Skydemon and PowerFlarm. How does it work?

I noticed that in the latest release of Skydemon Powerflarm is integrated. How does this work? I searched the forum but could not find a thread about the latest feature.

What device do you need to buy (e.g. http://www.air-store.eu/lshop,showdetail,137190630631367,en,1371906337-2700,kollisionswarnung.powerflarm.geraete.powerflarm_portable,1.3.3.0001,6,0,.htm)?

Are these devices really that expensive?

How do you connect it? Bluetooth?
