Flight tracker speed sensitivity

Hi there!

I’m experiencing an issue with the flight tracker or flight path logging in SkyDemon. As a helicopter pilot, I perform powerline inspection missions, which require me to fly very low — typically below 50 feet above ground level (AGL) — and at a slow speed of around 15 kilometers per hour (sometimes hover OGE)

As a result, SkyDemon mistakenly assumes that I’ve landed. Although I can manually log engine start/stop as well as block-off/block-on times, the actual flight time and flight path are not recorded correctly.

Could you please advise on how to resolve this issue?

The correct resolution is to use the manual logging feature. If you log your engine start and takeoff manually, SkyDemon will not automatically log anything further, assuming that you will log your landing when appropriate.

In cases such as yours, where reliably detecting takeoff and landing is not possible due to the characteristics of your mission, this is exactly when manual logging is the right thing to do.
