Aircraft conflict warnings

I was flying on Saturday and using an EC device.
SkyDemon gave me an audio warning of an aircraft 4000 ft above me...
I was at 2000 ft AMSL..
This doesn't seem right, so wonder  what the SkyDemon criteria is for providing,  potentially, conflicting aircraft information?
I have the latest SkyDemon version and run it on an Android smartphone.

If we warned you about an aircraft 4000 feet above you, it's either because that aircraft was indicating it was in a steep descent, or your own GPS briefly indicated it was in a steep climb. These things happen from time to time. I presume the warning swiftly disappeared as the data resolved itself.

Yes, it was a single  warning and I don't think it happened again. Just curious why it may have happened..
