not sure if it has been discussed before?
Did you ever consider to give us an option to customize some colors?
For me SD is a little bit to colorful. If i had the option i would change some colors.

i.e turn the blue background to black, the menu buttons just shades of grey

The planed route i would change from magenta to red.
Well it's a matter of taste. And for sure, my taste is the best of all ;-)))

Even if it`s just a kind of cosmetic - a little  customizing would make me a even happier SD-User.
