iPad (without GPS) + Bad Elf

Hi dear Skydemon users!
I encountered a new issue during my last flights. This setup works perfectly for years: iPad Mini 6 (Wifi only) + Bluetooth Bad Elf receiver. I did authorized Skydemon to access location when active (thru the popup window appearing when Skydemon is launch for the first time).

Symptoms:
  • In flight mode: loose connection with the Bad Elf and iPad window states it has no GPS receiver embedded
  • Skydemon doesn't appeared in the app list (ios settings)
I have reboot my iPad and re-installed several time it. No change. Any idea ? Thank you!

iPad Mini 6 iOS 15.7
Skydemon 3.16.3.345
Bad Elf GPS Pro Firmware 2.0.96 Hardware 2.1.2

This September problem solved itself... Maybe because of a re-install. But the problem is back again today during a flight where I tested the backup plan (iPhone). No one have an idea?

Unfortunately, I have no solution for this particular problem.
But just for my personal interest, why do some people use an external GPS receiver with an iPad having no internal receiver? It’s more expensive and seems to be less reliable…
I have an iPad 5 mini with internal receiver in use and it works perfectly, no receiving problems at all.

Regarding the reason of keeping an external GPS... It's just because I have this Bad Elf for more than a decade and at each renewall of my Ipad's (I think it's my fourth) it's cheaper to buy a WiFi only. One day I'll buy a cell version Wink
