Missing flight data reported for flight log

Hi there,

Yesterday evening I did a flight from Wellesbourne, overhead Worcester, overhead Gloucester and back to Wellesbourne. Upon landing Sky Demon reported that there was 33 seconds of missing flight data and this would be displayed as a straight line - is there any way of seeing the exact position and time the data was lost?

I am running SkyDemon on the iPhone attached to PilotAware.

Which brings me on to another question - Is there anyway of seeing an exact log and breakdown of what was displayed by SkyDemon on a flight - alerts, notifications, traffic alerts, airspace warnings etc - it would be interesting to review the flights I make in more detail?

Thanks
Rob

There isn't really a practical way of seeing where the gap is, you'd have to go through it in detail, possibly in the virtual radar window, to see where the gap was apparent. Alternatively export to GPX or KML and go through that file in Notepad and you'll see where the time gap was. These are usually caused by a temporary drop in GPS signal or SkyDemon not receiving position updates for some other reason.

We do not currently record warnings shown etc as part of a flight log. It's purely positional information.

Hi Tim,

Thanks for the reply - really useful. I will attempt the export tonight. I was just intrigued as I have used SkyDemon with PilotAware for many months and not received any gaps in data but I have updated both products recently and wanted to monitor in case of a potential issue or black spot.

Thanks
Rob
