For obvious (?) reasons  AvMap is not as well looked after as are Garmin and Magellan, but it is possible (if slightly convoluted) to use SkyAngel Plan with AvMap (mine is EKP IV).
The route (pardon the pun  ) is as follows:
1-export to .GPX
2-convert .GPX to .BIN file using conversion tool available from AvMap
3-use Main Menu > Database > File Manager
4-select the route or waypoints you wish to add and press ENTER to load the files
5-after loading, you can (if you wish) to delete the tracks or waypoints in File Manager using
I wish it was simpler  , but at least it is working
