Incidentally, I came from Sylt 4 days ago
. SD on my Ipad mini with iOS 8.3 crashed when zooming the Sylt Approach plate. However, I had this when simply panning the SD map. Vaguely guessing, this might be related (at least on my device) with iOS problems which affects all apps:SD crashed on every flight (simply quit) without leaving a Crash log in the appropriate file directory. There are however a lot of "JetsamEvents". It is said that they relate to low memory (RAM) problems. Strange when SD is the only app running.
In my experience this one happens when you got low on memory, especially on longer routes including loading lots of plates while overflying. IOS is a bit more crash prone, but this is related to thermal instability in hot environments. Android devices give you a black plate window instead - a proper indication you're on low RAM.
