Since a few weeks or months, I see geo-referenced Taxiway-Charts for aerodromes in Germany.
I remember, we discussed this some time ago.
I am not sure whether this is Feature of the DFS-subscription or if it Comes from SD itself.
Anyway: it's a great improvement, congratulations.
Idea: Switch to Taxiway-Chart from approach-chart and back dependant on the GPS-Speed. Taxi is normally slow, therefore Speed can be a good Trigger for choosing a different chart.

Why is this a bad idea?
‌I see what the problem can be:
S‌imply don't fly to the holding point!  Taxi slowly

I‌ really did not think on strong winds, sorry.‌

Yeah, I dont like the idea of autmatically switching charts based on ground speed. I fly I gyrocopter and heli (sometimes). Too much automatism usually starts to get complicated more quickly than it becomes reliable and convenient.

For another product this is exactly what all users see as the Major Advantage: Seamlessly integrated Approach Chart within the main map, showing more and more specific Details as you come closer with the taxyiway Chart as the last.

I appreciate the auto zoom feature showing more and more detail as one approaches teh destination airport. However, switching to a completely different chart is a different matter to me. Once you are landed it is safe and easy to select the taxiway chart manually since you are already sitting on the ground. I realize that there probably won't be a unanimous opinion on this one. Personally, I don't care for too much automation that doesn't offer a clear (to me) advantage.

I believe SkyDemon already chooses between an approach chart and aerodrome chart depending upon whether you're flying or not. This is slightly more complicated than just basing it on speed, but it works quite well. When you land, any visual approach chart will be replaced with an aerodrome chart or taxiway chart.

If there is a specific airfield/situation where you believe this isn't happening as it should, we can take a look into it and explain what's happening behind the scenes.‌
